Man charged with multiple child exploitation offenses. Bond set at $250,000

A 46-year-old Monroe man is being held on a $250,750 bond following his arrest late Wednesday night on a suite of felony child exploitation charges and a drug offense.

James Robert Hale Jr. was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center at 11:33 p.m. on August 12, 2026, following an investigation by the West Monroe Police Department.

According to booking records, Hale faces 14 separate charges, including multiple felony counts alleging child sexual exploitation and illicit contact with minors:
Indecent Behavior with Juveniles (10 counts)
Child Sexual Abuse Materials (2 counts)
Computer-Aided Solicitation of a Minor (1 count)
Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance (1 count, misdemeanor)

A total bond amount of $250,750 was set across the 14 counts, with individual bond amounts ranging from $750 for the misdemeanor drug charge to $20,000 for each of several felony counts. All bonds remain active.

Hale is scheduled to make a court appearance on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. in the 4th Judicial District Court.
