Recently, I heard a confession from a well-known Pastor/Preacher who shared the pain and agony of losing a spouse. He mentioned that during his wife’s last days of living, while lying in her bed, she asked him to “Just write His name on a piece of paper.” She desired to see His name. The pastor mentioned that once he wrote J E S U S on a piece of paper and showed it to her, she looked at it and was pleased.
Sometimes in life when the struggle is real and harder than you can every imagine just seeing the name J E S U S written on a piece of paper will bring peace and comfort. All believers who have confessed J E S U S, can testify that it is something about the name, J E S U S. The Lord allowed me to write an article some years ago titled, “Who is Jesus, and why do you keep calling His name?” Briefly, the student was so hyper, and the teacher would call out Jesus’ name in the classroom. After doing this several times, the student asked her, “Who is Jesus, and why do you keep calling His name?”
Dear hearts, it is something about His name that brings peace to a troubled heart, joy to a downtrodden spirit, hope when all hope is lost, love where there is hate, etc. There is power in the name, J E S U S. Paul wrote, “And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death-even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” “There is power in the name of. J E S U S!”
Even when words are hard to come and you need something to get you through the day, “Just write His name on a piece of paper”. Whatever we face or go through in this life, always call upon the name of J E S U S.
I can only imagine what the Pastor’s wife was going through on her death bed, but even though she was in the state that she was in, just seeing the name J E S U S written on a piece of paper was more than enough for her.
In our distresses, it’s “J E S U S”; disappointments, it’s J E S US; sicknesses, it is “J E S U S” in everything, it is “J E S U S”. “Just write His name on a piece of paper-J E S U S.”
Lord, thank you for JESUS!
