Where Eagles Fly

By Rusty Potter

Life is full of storms. Some come with warnings – others come without a warning. The promotion you thought was yours went to someone else. A relationship you trusted begins to unravel. The goals you set seem farther away than ever. But in the moments, when the sky turns dark and the winds howl loudest, I encourage you to remember the eagle.

Unlike most birds that seek shelter in a storm, the eagle does something strange – it flies straight into the storm.

Eagles don’t run from the storm. They face it head-on. With wings stretched wide, they embrace the wind and use the storm’s force to rise higher. What looks like adversity becomes their opportunity. While other birds are grounded the eagle is elevated.

That’s the challenge for all of us be more like the eagle.

Storms are part of life. No one escapes them. But the mindset we carry into our challenges determines whether we’re grounded or rising. When adversity hits, will we shrink back in fear or stretch out our wings and let the experience lift us?

Like the eagle, we must learn to trust the process.

That layoff might push you to start the business you’ve always dreamed of. That heartbreak may teach you how strong you are. That rejection might be a redirection to something better. Eagles don’t soar by accident – they do it by choice.

The truth is, God did not design you to be ordinary. You were built for more. Inside of you is the strength to face the storm. You have the potential to fly higher than you ever imagined. You have to believe in yourself. You have to stretch out your wings and decide that today will not break you, it will build you.

Let me speak directly to those who are tired. Someone who feels like the wind has been against you for too long. Let this be your reminder: You are not alone, and this storm will pass. But even more than that, this storm might be the very storm that takes you to a new level in life.

So don’t give in to the fear. Don’t fold your wings. Don’t settle for the ground when you were born to fly. Look to the sky. Let the wind remind you of what’s possible.

Where eagles fly, storms are not obstacles – they are invitations to rise.

You’ve got this. And when the storms come, don’t run from it. Fly through it.
