Theresa Mae Birden, a beloved mother, grandmother, and lifelong member of the Monroe community, passed away on May 21, 2025. She was 89.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 31, at 11:00 AM at Lone Star Baptist Church in Sterlington, where family, friends, and community members gathered to honor her life and legacy. The service celebrated her unwavering faith, warm spirit, and decades of dedication to her family and church.
Visitation took place Friday, May 30, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Smith Funeral Home. Mrs. Birden was laid to rest at Richwood Gardens in Richwood, LA, with arrangements under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Known for her quiet strength and steadfast love, Mrs. Birden was a matriarch to many and a friend to all. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched throughout her long and meaningful life.
