Coot was well known by so many people in the community, partly because you would see him walking all

across town, from Desiard St, to South 2nd and Winnsboro Rd, he later became a frequent bus rider on Monroe Transit. He was a quiet presence and made friends easily and everyone that knew him took special care of him and looked out for him, partly because of his sister, Sarah Reitzell, his caregiver for over 60 years, who, sadly, on Friday, May 9, 2025, also passed away, leaving a void in the hearts of her daughters, grandchildren, her siblings, church family, and friends.
She was a mother to her family, a pillar in her church, in Monroe as well as across the state.
They will both be missed by so many people whose lives they touched along the way.
