Sister Mary Elizabeth Turner Price, a lifelong Monroe resident, devoted church leader, and beloved community member, passed away on August 6, 2026, at the age of 60.
Born in Monroe on November 12, 1965, to the late Louis W. “L.W.” Turner and Willie Mae Holland Turner, Mrs. Price built a life centered on faith, family, and Christian service. Accepted into the faith at an early age, she was baptized at Greater Free Gift Baptist Church under the late Dr. B. J. Washington, beginning a lifelong commitment to her church community.
Mrs. Price was widely known for her dedicated ministry work. She faithfully served for three years as President of the Greater Free Gift Baptist Church Usher Ministry, welcoming worshippers and providing guidance at the sanctuary doors.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Darrell Ray Price; her uncles, Reverend Earnest Holland and Bishop Tyronne Holland; her mother-in-law, Josephine Price; her sisters-in-law, Annie Turner and Queenie Turner; her brother-in-law, Reverend Willie Cook; alongside an extended network of relatives, close friends, and her church community.
Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her parents; her sister/cousin, Mary Cook; and five brothers: Paul, Elijah, Louis, Leonard, and Peter Turner.

Visitation: Friday, August 21, 2026, from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM at McFarland Funeral Companies (1901 Burg Jones Lane, Monroe, LA 71202).
Funeral Service: Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Berean Baptist Church (1317 South 10th Street, Monroe, LA 71202).
Interment: Saturday, August 22, 2026, following the funeral service at Richwood Memorial Gardens (2705 Richwood Road #2, Monroe, LA 71202).
