Regular Meeting Minutes

Members In Attendance: Alderman Simeon Profit, Alderman Janice Fleming, Alderman Donald Richard , Alderman Deneitra Ross
The Town of Richwood met for a Regular Meeting held June 18, 2025, at 7:00 P.M. at the Richwood Multi-Purpose Center, 2710 Martin Luther King Drive, Richwood, Louisiana to consider the following business:
I. Meeting Called to Order 7:01 P.M.
II. Prayer by Mayor Brown
III. Pledge of Allegiance in unison
IV. Roll Call: All (4) Aldermen Present at Roll Call
V. Adoption of the Agenda:
It was motioned by Alderman Simeon Profit and seconded by Alderman Donald Richard to adopt the agenda as presented.
* The record shall reflect that a vote was taken to adopt the agenda as presented with the following results: (4) Votes Yes to Adopt the agenda.

VI. Adoption of May 15, 2025, Regular Meeting Minutes
It was motioned by Alderman Simeon Profit and seconded by Alderman Deneitra Ross to adopt the May 15, 2025 Regular Meeting Minutes as presented.
* The record shall reflect a vote that was taken to adopt the May 15, 2025, Regular Meeting Minutes as presented with the following results: (4) Votes Yes to adopt.

It was motioned by Alderman Simeon Profit and seconded by Alderman Deneitra Ross to adopt the Financial Reports as presented.
* The record shall reflect that a vote was taken to adopt the Financial Reports as presented with the following results: (4) Votes Yes to Adopt the Financial Reports as presented.

IX. Mayor s Dialogue:
Mayor Gerald Brown- reminded the forum of the upcoming LMA District C meeting on June 26, 2025, and to contact Ms. Woods if they were attending.
Mayor Gerald Brown- reminded the forum of the following Juneteenth Celebration events.
Parade on June 20, 2025, the parade lineup is at 5:00 p.m. and the parade begins at 6:00 p.m., and on
Juneteenth Art & Historical Exhibit takes place Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the Richwood Multi-Purpose Center.
Family and Friend Fun Day- takes place at the Mary Goins Park on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.
X. Adoption of Ordinance 2025-02 ( An ordinance adopting the Town s expenditures for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025, and ending June 30, 2026
Alderman Janice Fleming- inquired if there were any items to add ?
Mayor Gerald Brown- stated not at this time.
It was motioned by Alderman Simeon Profit and seconded by Alderman Deneitra Ross to adopt Ordinance 2025-02 ( An ordinance adopting the Town s expenditures for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025, and ending June 30, 2026.
* The record shall reflect that a vote was taken to adopt Ordinance 2025-02 (An ordinance adopting the Town s expenditures for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025, and ending June 30, 2026 with the following results: All (4) Aldermen present voted Yes to Adopt.

XI. Adoption of Resolution 2025-05 ( A resolution levying millage taxes for the Town of Richwood
Alderman Donald Richard- inquired if there were any changes to the millage taxes?
Mayor Gerald Brown- advised there were no changes, this is just a renewal of the millage taxes which allows us to collect them.
It was motioned by Alderman Donald Richard and seconded by Alderman Deneitra Ross to adopt Resolution 2025-05 ( A resolution levying millage taxes for the Town of Richwood.
* The record shall reflect that a vote was taken to adopt Resolution 2025-05 ( A resolution levying millage taxes for the Town of Richwood) with the following results: All (4) Aldermen present voted Yes to Adopt.
