The importance of equipping marriages and families to sustain

Grace and Peace to All!

To begin with, “to God be the glory” for this God-given opportunity to once again share what has been place on my heart. Thank Him for our Everlasting, Eternal and Endless Savior, Jesus Christ, who died and rose the third day so that you and I may have life and have it more abundantly. I am grateful to be alive in 2025!

Next, as we enter a new year and maybe a new beginning in our lives, we must remember that God has gifted us with families who we must cherish and appreciate. It has been increasingly evident through biblical teachings and writings that God is concerned about marriages and families and their sustainability. In fact, God designed the church and family to play an integral part in the spiritual formation of building effective family structures. When it comes to building stronger marriages and families, it is essential that the church seeks out opportunities to invest in the training and equipping of families to sustain as God designed from the beginning.

Furthermore, to make mention of, marriage is the first institution created by God. God made Adam, the first man and declared that “it was not good for man to be alone”. Afterward, He created the woman, Eve, and commanded that they replenish the earth (Gen. 1:20-28). So, God intended the man and woman to bring forth a family that God instituted from the beginning. For this reason, the church must invest in families by equipping them to sustain. In doing so, this will help the church and family members integrate biblical principles in their daily lives as well as their home which will strengthen the dynamics of families. “If families are strong, then the church is strong”.

Finally, improving family dynamics may be challenging but it is worth the effort. Yielding to the call to make our families shining lights for the world to see is impactful and essential for the world’s view of who Jesus really is. When families and individuals allow their light to shine, others will see it and desire a closer walk with God.

Dear hearts, it is important to equip marriages and families to sustain to encourage and strengthen them to withstand the challenges that they will face throughout their lives.

In God’s view, homes and churches must be the places where God dwells and you choose to serve only Him. We must remember what Joshua said, in Joshua 24:15 “And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day who you will serve…But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
