Obituary for Barbara Lynn Wilson

Jan 4, 1960 – Sept 19, 2023

Our earthly beloved Queen departed this life on September 19, 2023. Barbara Isea was born to the late Thelma and David Iseah, on January 4, 1960, in Monroe, Louisiana.
Barbara was baptized at an early age. She became a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend John L. Russell, Sr.

In her early years, she attended J.S. Clark Elementary School, Robert Lee Junior High School, and Carroll Junior High School, and received her high school diploma from Carroll High School in May 1978.

One beautiful daughter, Kenyatta Iseah-Matthews (Montrell), was brought into the world by our dearly departed. Barbara has two grandchildren: Jaylah Nabors (Dallas, Texas) and Jeffrey Nabors (Lafayette, Louisiana).

Later years, Barbara met the love of her life, Christopher Wilson. Barbara then moved to Anchorage, Alaska. Shortly after, the two united in holy matrimony on January 27, 1994.

From this union, four wonderful sons are left to carry out her legacy: Christian (Anchorage, Alaska), Connor (Brooklyn, New York), Chandlar (Oklahoma), and Carnegie (Anchorage, Alaska).

Three sisters: Florine Iseah and Dianne January (Edward), both reside in Monroe, Louisiana, and Veria Iseah (deceased). Two brothers: Samuel T. Johnson (Veria), residing in Mer Rouge, Louisiana, and Otis Iseah (deceased. She has left a host of nieces and nephews to celebrate her memory.

Barbara was a paralegal for the state of Alaska. When her first son Christian was born, she decided to quit her job and home school him. Barbara was immensely proud of the fact that she went on to homeschool all her four boys. Barbara was once asked what qualified her to be their teacher and she replied that no one loved them as much as she did. It was important that she instilled her values into her kids.

She and her husband Chris have owned a business for over 20 years. They have coached and mentored people to capitalize on the free enterprise system. She was an avid reader and alwavs willing to share her knowledge and wisdom with others. She enjoyed traveling with her family as well as business conferences. Everyone that knew Barbara was greeted by her radiant smile and her loving hugs. She took pleasure in decorating her home, which was always welcome to family and friends. There has been an outpour of individuals who were inspired by the positive gems she poured into their lives. Her servant spirit and commitment to her family was a priority to her.

She was always willing to help family members, friends, and strangers if she could. She was the main caregiver for her father-in-law, the late Jesse Wilson Jr. Their bond prior to his death was unparalleled.
To the members of her family, her commitment and dedication of service is irreplaceable. Certainly, she will be missed. However, as each day passes, we will remember that her presence will forever linger with us in our hearts and minds. We will smile, knowing that our beautiful Queen Barbara has transitioned from Earth to Glory.
