Lord, what is happening to your gravity???

By: Dr. Jacqueline Simmons

Scripture: But if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him… by the word of the coming of the Lord shall not prevent (precede) them which are asleep(dead). For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord (1 Thessalonians 4:14-17).
My Friends,
We will pause again at God’s way station for fuel and refreshing, shower in the holy spirit, soak our feet in the blood of the lamb and eat the bread of life. What a multiplicity of blessings!!!
I must admit that this child of God knows nothing about gravity even after searching for definitions in various sources. I am praying that you will take that revelation into consideration during your reading of this message (smile).
In my growing-up years and beginning stages of becoming an adult, I was taught that gravity is a God-given force which keeps people and objects in a downward position and prevents them from floating uncontrollably in the air.
Even though I taught a lower grade and eventually social studies on a high school level, a couple of occasions occurred for me to demonstrate my version of gravity to some of my assigned students.
I daringly took a heavy textbook and a light sheet of ditto paper, held them both about the height of my waist, and dropped both of them on the floor at what I considered to be the same angle and timing. The majority of my students seemed to agree with me that both objects landed on the floor at approximately the same time. Oh, egg would have appeared to be on my face had my so-called demonstration failed (smile). Of course, I had rehearsed it several times in privacy before my bold presentation to my classes but consistently since then, I have begun to notice a change in what appeared to me and later mentioned by my sister, “Dena”. Often we drop objects expecting them to be recovered in very close proximity to where they fell, but, in several instances had to search for them in order to retrieve them.
For example, a few days ago, one of my family’s dear friends and adopted son, Willie Williams-Reddix asked me to turn from the position in which I was sitting while facing him, reach in a bin located on the dresser behind me and give him a bottle of rubbing alcohol. I tried to do as bided, turned around, picked up the alcohol, but it slipped from my hand and landed on the dresser for a brief moment. From there, it continued its journey, fell on the carpeted floor behind an open door, bounced approximately two feet across the floor and to our astonishment landed at Will’s feet. We were both in awe at one of God’s displays of his awesomeness.
It aggravates me to “no end” when someone foolishly tries to give credit to someone who has been named “mother nature”. “Who is “mother nature”? I don’t have a clue, and they don’t either.
God willing, see you next week, Pray!
