Melvin Phenix (74) of Monroe, Louisiana, passed away suddenly at his home on February 5, 2026. He is survived by his daughter, Mechelle (MeMe) Hinton-Phenix; three granddaughters, Daja’Nea Brown, Kennea Brown, and Kah’Shy’Rah Winters; one great-granddaughter, Jersey Allen and another great-granddaughter on the way; four siblings, Jesse Phenix, Mary Phenix, Bobbie Gipson, all of Toledo, Ohio, and Linda DeGrate of Monroe, Louisiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The Memorial Celebration of Life for Mr. Phenix will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Richardson Funeral Home, 1866 Winnsboro Road, Monroe, LA 71202.
