Natchez, MS / Wisner, LA – The Ambers-Manuel family successfully marked a historic milestone this past weekend, celebrating their 95th Annual Family Reunion from June 19-21, 2026, with events bridging communities in Mississippi and Louisiana.
The remarkable tradition originated in May 1931 in Sicily Island, Louisiana, as a birthday dinner for the children of Oscar and Emma Ammons (Ambers) Manuel. Ninety-five years later, the annual gathering has grown into a multi-state legacy, drawing generations of descendants from all corners of the United States – including California, Texas, Illinois, Alabama, Washington and Michigan.
This year’s weekend-long celebration commenced on Friday, June 19, intersecting with the Juneteenth holiday. Relatives gathered for an evening “Meet & Greet” at the Natchez Manor Bed & Breakfast in Natchez, Mississippi. The following day, the family held a moving Family Brunch Buffet & Remembrance at the Concord Quarters Event Center in Natchez, dedicating time to honor the memories of cherished ancestors and recently departed family members.
The 95th annual celebration culminated on Sunday, June 21, coinciding with Father’s Day, for the traditional, milestone “Family Dinner” in Wisner, Louisiana. The afternoon was filled with shared history, multi-generational activities, and a collective prayer of thanksgiving for nearly a century of continuous family solidarity.
