Surround yourself with people who are going to lift you higher in life. Make sure the people you associate with are in agreement with your values. They should encourage you to move to a higher level in life. Proverbs13:20 says,” He that walketh with wise men shall be wise.” If you want to learn a new task, find friends that have mastered the same task. Surround yourself with people that you can learn from; be a student of those who have succeeded before you.
If you struggle with an addiction, find friends that have overcome the same addiction. Your friends should have the abilities to help you to accomplish your goals and dreams in life. Great people make you feel that you too can be great. You should never apologize for having high standards. The people who want to be your friend should rise to meet your standards. Booker T. Washington said, “ Associate yourself with people of good quality, for it is better to be alone than in bad company.”
