Inmate suspects his life is in danger

Dear Editor,

My name is Ronnie L. Cousin, #89334 is my prison number, I am incarcerated at David Wade Correctional Center(DWCC). I am writing in dire need of your assistance by any means provided, I have reason to believe that my life is in danger here at DWCC. Such as the following:

Eddie Kennedy, a security officer, ranked as a major, and employed at DWCC, Homer, La., is promoting gangism. To be sure, under the table cash and other favors of interest, is rewarded to lower ranking officers under his supervision to carry out hits(assaults) upon inmates in the late hours of the night.
These assaults consists of inmates being handcuffed with their hands behind their back and shackles on their legs, cutting off blood circulation to hands and legs. A small room is used where the targeted inmate is escorted. Once there he’ll be sprayed with mace and then he’ll be beat to the floor.

The (body camera) that are suppose to be on during a use of force are never turned on; because the use of forces are done in violation of the law. These assaults are targeted for retaliatory brutality against inmates who:

1. File grievances against security guards

2. File law suites against security guards and other prison staff and

3. Inmates like myself who help other inmates to file complaints because they cannot read and write.

This officer, major/ Eddie Kennedy is never held accountable for his abuse of inmates. I am a (Black Panther). I will continue to fight for my brothers, especially for those who cannot read and write. I was born April 8, 1961, I can’t take too many more beatings, or sprayed with gas, but I can’t sit and watch my brother get physically abused and do nothing.

Closing with this: I’ve tried to get transferred to another facility for my welfare and safety, because if I’m forced to stay here, I will be killed. Dirty hands wash dirty hands here.

Thank you for your time and for any assistance provided regarding this matter.

Peace and Blessings
Ronnie L. Cousin #89334
