True Vine Girl Scouts Service Project

True Vine Baptist Church Girl Scouts kicked off their year with a service project on Saturday, August 20.

Troop Leader LaNiqua Pegross coordinated an event for girls to gather at True Vine and bring cases of bottled water for residents of Enterprise, Louisiana.

Enterprise and St. Joseph, Louisiana have been battling a problem with contaminated water. According to research, water tested positive for Enterococcus and Fecal bacteria in Enterprise.

Approximately 100 cases of water were donated. Ms. Pegross stated she is very proud of the girls for their overwhelming response.

This is a clear example of the Girl Scout Law, to be considerate and caring and to make the world a better place .

“When I think about people not being able to use the water to drink, cook nor bathe it makes me sad and more willing to help” said girl scout Taraji Young.

NaShaya Puckett said “It makes me feel good to be a member of such a giving troop who exemplifies the Girl Scout Law through not only words but also actions.

True Vine Girl Scouts age levels are K-12.
