The community is mourning the recent passing of three beloved women whose lives touched families and friends across Northeast Louisiana. Funeral arrangements have been announced through McFarland Funeral Companies for Estelle Jackson, Katie Powell, and Beatrice Harris.
Estelle Jackson, 86
Estelle Jackson passed away on November 13, 2025, at the age of 86. Known for her faith and quiet strength, she will be remembered during a celebration of life service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Greater Free Gift Baptist Church, located at 5510 U.S. Highway 165 Bypass in Monroe.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 28, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at McFarland Funeral Companies, 1901 Burg Jones Lane.
Interment will follow on Monday, December 1, at Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 2412 U.S. Highway 425, in Rayville.
Katie Powell, 90
Katie Powell, a longtime resident of Monroe, passed away on November 19, 2025, at the age of 90. Her family describes her as a woman of grace, faith, and kindness who loved her church and community.
Visitation will take place on Friday, December 5, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at McFarland Funeral Companies.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, at Greater Free Gift Baptist Church, 5510 U.S. Highway 165 Bypass.
Burial will follow at Richwood Memorial Gardens, 2705 Richwood Road #2, Monroe.
Beatrice Harris, 70
Beatrice Harris passed away on November 21, 2025, at the age of 70. Remembered for her kindness and love for family, she will be honored during a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, at McFarland Funeral Companies, 1901 Burg Jones Lane.
Visitation will be held earlier that day from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the same location.
All three services are under the direction of McFarland Funeral Companies of Monroe, which continues its long tradition of serving families with care and compassion during times of loss.
