Three local men were honored Saturday for their efforts to lift minorities before the law, economics, and community initiatives.
Former Senator Charles D. Jones, Former Bastrop Mayor Clarence Hawkins, and District Attorney John Belton, were praised by the LA Rise Network an organization of former and current Black State President of various state Associations.
The group held its third-quarter meeting Saturday at the Marriott Courtyard Airport Hotel in the Pecanland Mall.
