A somber investigation is underway in West Monroe following a violent incident earlier this week that claimed the lives of two people, including a young teen and the alleged perpetrator.
The ordeal began on August 11 when police responded to a distress call at the 100 block of Prune Street. There, they found two women injured. Emma Bueno, 19, was swiftly taken to a nearby hospital with serious gunshot injuries and is currently stable, receiving intensive care surgeries as her family reports. Sadly, her 17-year-old sister did not survive, succumbing to a gunshot wound at the scene.
Authorities identified 21-year-old Andricko Lamon Lewis Jr., Emma’s former boyfriend, as the suspect. Later spotted by Ouachita Parish sheriff’s deputies, Lewis made a desperate escape in one of the victims’ cars, igniting a tense chase through the streets. With sirens blaring and tension mounting, the pursuit came to a tragic halt when Lewis, cornered inside the vehicle, turned a gun on himself, ending his life with a fatal self-inflicted shot. The dramatic scene left deputies and onlookers in shock as watched from the 18th Street area in Monroe.
The case remains open as investigators continue to piece together the events.
