Services for Shirley Hannon, a cherished sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, were held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at McFarland Funeral Companies in Monroe, Louisiana.
Shirley passed away on January 5, 2024, at the age of 71.
Born on February 5, 1952, in Dubach, Louisiana, Shirley Hannon was the beloved daughter of the late Earnest and Tiney Brown Hannon. Her life was a testament to her resilience, compassion, and unwavering spirit. Though she is now gone, her legacy continues in the hearts and memories of those who knew her.
Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, Bobbie William. Her life’s journey leaves a profound impact on her loving family. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her brother, Billy Hannon of Farmerville, Louisiana; her sisters Betty Garr (Albert) of Farmerville, Louisiana; Betty Townsend Stover of Salisbury, North Carolina; Earnestean Lyons of Ruston, Louisiana; Mattie Giles (Carlos) of Houston, Texas; Kate Winzer (Frank) of Ruston, Louisiana; Nanette Hannon of Ruston, Louisiana; Barbara Richards (William) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Trina Hannon of Marion, Louisiana. Shirley’s memory will also be cherished by her seven cousins, numerous nieces and nephews, extended family members, and a host of friends.
Shirley’s journey on earth may have ended, but her spirit and the love she shared will forever be imprinted in the lives of those she touched. Her family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to everyone who has offered support and condolences during this difficult time.
Following the funeral service on January 13, Shirley was laid to rest at Millard Hill Cemetery, where she was given a peaceful and respectful farewell.
