Praise the Lord for Jesus Christ!

By Lisa Wilmore

Dear Hearts,

Have you praised God lately or told others what He has done for you? Interestingly, David and others praised or prayed in Psalms giving our LORD adoration for what He has done through His creation, His blessings, and forgiveness for His people.

Psalm 146-150 are the last five psalms noted in the Book of Psalm which begins and ends with “Praise the LORD”. These particular Psalms reveal to us, how to praise Him, why we should praise Him, and where we should praise him. (LASB).

To make mention of, David’s hallelujah psalm 146 reveal His praises to God for His goodness. The psalmist sang, “Praise the LORD . Praise the LORD, O my soul. I will praise the LORD all my life;  I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save.  When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing. Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD their God. He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them— he remains faithful forever.  He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free, the LORD gives sight to the blind, the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down, the LORD loves the righteous. The LORD watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked. The LORD reigns forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations. Praise the LORD.”

The psalmist declared that he would praise the LORD all his life which is a noteworthy commitment. Have you made this commitment to praise God for the rest of your life? Even though things may get hard, and your burdens are unbearable, have you committed to praising Him. This is quite a commitment-to praise Him all the days of your life; yet David made this commitment because he understood and appreciated what God had done for him and who God really is.

Like David, to commit to praising Him all the days of our lives, we must view God as the maker of all creation, the One who remains faithful, the One who gives food to the hungry, the One who lifts up a bowed down head, and the One who reigns forever. “What a mighty God we serve!”

My Friends, in David’s prophetic number of Psalm 22, he presented Jesus Christ as Savior. He noted that God inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3 KJV). Yes, He does! “Praise the LORD for Jesus Christ!”
