Praise God for his benefit of redemption through the blood of Jesus

My Dear Friends,

Have you ever thought about what would or would have happened to us absent of God’s benefit of redemption through the Blood of Jesus? It is definitely a scary thought to think about the penalty that awaited us because of our lack of ability to redeem ourselves. The Psalmist, David, recorded in Psalm 103, “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth them with lovingkindness and tender mercies…” (Psalm 103:1-4 KJV). Indeed, God’s benefit of redemption through the blood of Jesus is what saved us from destruction. Trouble and devastation were our destinations; however, because of Jesus’ blood, we can bask in His saving power.

What is redemption? What does it mean to redeem someone? In our case, how did Jesus’ blood save us? Essentially, “redemption was the price paid to gain freedom for a slave (Leviticus 25:47-54). Through His death, Jesus paid the price to release us from the slavery of sin.” (LAB, 1781). In the Old Testament, the priest would shed animals’ blood to offer sacrifice to recompense for the people’s sins (Leviticus 17:11). We are now able to receive forgiveness because of the benefit of our redemption through the shedding of Jesus’ blood. He died and was the perfect and final sacrifice for those who believe and accept Him as Lord and Savior.

It is important to realize that we must “Praise God for His benefit of redemption through the blood of Jesus as David praised Him. Paul noted in Romans, “God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him” (Romans 5:8-9 KJV). Jesus’ blood saved us from God’s anger and rage against us because of our committed sins. According to Romans 1:18, “The wrath of God was revealed from heaven against all godlessness and wickedness.” Praise God, for His benefit of redemption through Jesus’ blood and saving us from His wrath!

In the final analysis, Jesus became our substitute, and all of our sins and iniquities were place on Him. He saved us from destruction through His redemptive power. Thank You, Jesus!

That leaves one thing. If you are reading this article, and have not accepted Jesus as your Savior, this is an opportunity to “confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9). Saved from God’s wrath.
