Monroe Marshal’s annual Thanksgiving luncheon held
Marshal Wince Highshaw, Jr. and his deputies sponsored their 14th Annual Thanksgiving dinner on Friday, November 22, 2019, in the Monroe Convention Center, Fort Miro Room. Captain Audwina Martin called the house to order, Pastor Oliver W. Billups gave a brief inspirational message on Thanksgiving and delivered the prayer including the blessing of the food, Major Morris Stroud welcomed the attendees, and Captain Justin January introduced the deputies. The delicious Thanksgiving meal included turkey, ham, cornbread dressing, green peas, potato salad, and peach cobbler was catered by Best Buy Restaurant, Cordell Blockson, owner. Marshal Highshaw conducted a drawing for the turkeys that were given to ticket holders.
