A man is behind bars after being arrested Wednesday morning charged with beating his ex-girlfriend with a metal pipe.
Monroe police have booked 40-year-old Monty Page with attempted second-degree murder after police found the victim, his reported ex-girlfriend being attended by a witness, with several wounds to her head.
The witness told police that Page had hit on the head several times with a metal pipe.
Page was arrested on one count of attempted second-degree murder, two counts of failure to appear, and possession of a controlled schedule 2 dangerous substance.
