My Dear, Dear Friends,
God is becoming angrier and angrier with us in innumerable ways already which some of us evidently have chosen to ignore. This child of God is wondering how can we continue to ignore His viruses, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, forest fires, unusual heat, and cold indexes, etc.? Before Labor Day celebrations began, greedy merchants had already flooded their shelves and aisles with Halloween paraphernalia, such as Halloween candles, candies, and witches costumes, pumpkins, etc. Even though it is such a merchandizing bonanza, God is forbidding us to participate in the merchants’ annual “dance” to the bank.
This writer has been told that people are soooo “caught up” in this forbidden celebration until they are decorating their homes with lightings and other Halloween decorative displays as we once decorated our homes during the Christmas holidays for the celebration of the birth of our LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ.
During my earlier days of existence, we had entire neighborhoods, churches, businesses, and homes decorated with manger scenes, wise men traveling to Bethlehem, and shepherds kneeling at the manger scene. Now, most home occupants decorate their homes with cold lights, only. The reason being, when America became a dependent nation after losing its independence to other nations who do not accept God and the celebration of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, customers and stores cannot purchase nativity and other Christmas scenes because they have disappeared from our stores. Presently, we have generations of Americans who do not know of salvation through the acceptance of Jesus Christ. Some churches have begun serving children Halloween “stuff” out of the trunks of their cars on churchyards as an alternative to being in danger as trick or treaters. Nevertheless, parental “controlled” homes can train their children to do as they always do on other nights-remain safely behind the walls of their homes. They will be safe there as on other nights.
My friends, it is with great fear of God’s reactions to our blatant observances of Halloween as He has done through His virus, which entered during Mardi Gras season.
Please heed this old lady’s pleas and have prayer meetings or Bible classes at your homes Halloween night as an alternative to Halloween celebrations.
In our text for this message, Moses is warning God’s people against abominable, native practices upon entering the promised land-the same practices some of us are carrying out today.
Friends, please stop your disobediences and your children’s, also. It is better not to have home practices and decoration, which angers God than to further ensight His anger as we have already done in the past.
