Nelson Mandela said, “There is no passion to be found in playing small, in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.” It takes the same amount of energy to think small as it does to think big. Our expectations set the limits for our future. If you expect little, you’re going to receive little. If you don’t plan for your future to get better, then it will not. I encourage you to go as far as you can dream. You were born to accomplish something big in life. Focus on preparing yourself for where you are going and where you are going depends on your thoughts. Tomorrow you want to be greater than the person you are today. You will learn that you are capable of more than you can imagine. Don’t be weighed down by the distractions and disappointments of the past, instead keep stretching to the next level, reaching for your highest potential.
I encourage you to surround yourself with the doers, the believers, and the thinkers, but most of all, surround yourself with people who see greatness within you, even when you don’t see it in yourself. What’s in front of you is more important than what is behind you. What you become in the future depends on the choices you make today, take the time to invest in your mind. Socrates said, “ The mind is everything; what you think you become.” I wake up at 4 am every morning believing that today is going to be better than yesterday. No matter what you have been through in life, you are still here to show the world your greatness. I encourage you not to focus on fighting the old but focus on building the new.
