Dear Hearts,
My prayer for you this Christmas season is that God blesses you with good health and strength as you continue your journey of worshiping and honoring Him. It is truly a blessing to share with you once again the joy of celebrating the birth of Jesus, our Everlasting, Eternal, and Endless Father.
Aside from the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the greatest event in history-the birth of Jesus-will be celebrated by people around the world in different customs or ways. When parents welcome a child into the world, family and friends joyfully celebrate the gift God has entrusted to them. Similarly, we have the privilege of celebrating the arrival of our eternal Father, who was born to be a light to His people. This is a special occasion to honor the birth of Baby Jesus, our eternal Father. For this, we say, “Thank you, God!”
Furthermore, each year when reading and studying Scriptures to bring forth a Christmas message about the coming Savior, the story is the same. We understand that Mary and Joseph brought forth a little Baby Boy who was known as the Savior of the world. When they had the Baby, there was no room in the inn, so they had to lay Baby Jesus in a manger while Mary wrapped Him in swaddling clothes. Yes! We are all familiar with the story, but the significance of the story is that Mary and Joseph were nurturing our eternal Father.
As noted in the Word of God, Isaiah prophesied the coming of the Messiah (Savior). He penned, “The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined…. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace” (Isiah9:2;6 KJV). The Deliverer has come as the light for the world, and we celebrate Him during this season. Moreover, Isaiah revealed that in time of great darkness, God promised to send a light that would shine on everyone in the land of the shadow of death (2b). As we read God’s Word, the prophet reminds us that he is a “Mighty God”, “Counselor”, “Everlasting Father”, and “Prince of Peace”.
As we bask in the excitement of celebrating the coming of Baby Jesus, our eternal Father, we must remember that He is the reason for the season. Spreading love and joy to one another is essential but must not supersede our honor and praise to God for His wonderful Gift-our eternal Father.
