The Benjamin Family would like to congratulate and acknowledge Ms. Alexa Johnson, who will serve as the 2023-2024 Student Government Association President at The Grambling State University. Alexa has also been appointed to the HBCU Advisory Council for the state of Louisiana, where she will serve as a student member, being the third ever student and first female to serve in this position.
Alexa is a member of The Grambling State University Earl Lester Cole Honors College, a proud member of the Delta Iota Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., she is on the Presidential Honor Roll and served as the Vice-President for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Alexa is the daughter of Brad and Latisha Benjamin-Jones and the late Steven Johnson; the granddaughter of Gregory and Sherilyn Benjamin and Charles and Jacqueline Mauldin; the Great Granddaughter of Mordess Benjamin, Joe Lawson, Magnolia Bishop, Milton Johnson, and Lillian Snowden all who originally hail from Monroe, Louisiana.
Our family is proud of Alexa and wholeheartedly believe that as she continues to keep God first and diligently work to accomplish her goals; there will be more milestones, many more firsts, and she will continue to excel.
