A 39-year-old local man was taken into custody Thursday morning by the Monroe Police Department following a domestic disturbance where officers say he forced open a locked door and shoved a woman with a chair.
Damion Green was arrested on August 6, 2026, at approximately 10:03 a.m. by Corporal Timothy Stephens. He faces charges of Domestic Abuse Battery and Simple Criminal Damage to Property.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, officers responded to a residence at approximately 10:00 a.m. regarding a reported domestic disturbance. The complainant, identified as Kelly Green, told officers that her ex-husband had arrived at the residence to drop off food for their daughter.
A verbal argument escalated between the two, leading Kelly to force Green out of the house. Officers stated that Green then went to a side door and forced it open, damaging the entryway. Once back inside, Green allegedly grabbed a chair and pushed her down with it.
Upon contact with police, Green was advised of his Miranda rights. According to the arrest affidavit, Green admitted to forcing his way into the home, claiming he only did so to retrieve the cell phone that had been taken from him. He also admitted to grabbing a chair and pushing her with it, stating it was done to keep her away from him.
Charges: Domestic Abuse Battery (Count 1), Simple Criminal Damage to Property (Count 2)
Listed Bond: $500 (Property Damage Count)
Court records note that Green has a prior criminal history entry for a domestic incident in 2022.
