Lake Providence, La. — Low-income families, seniors and individuals with disabilities in East Carroll Parish will receive essential support through a $4,000 grant from leading internet and mobile provider Sparklight®. Awarded through the Sparklight Charitable Giving Fund, the grant will help East Carroll Community Action Agency provide food, essential supplies and utility assistance to neighbors in need.
During its recent grant cycle, Sparklight awarded more than $125,000 in grants to 28 nonprofit organizations across the cities and towns it serves. By investing in programs that support children and families, address food insecurity, expand educational opportunities and build critical life skills, the funding is helping improve lives and strengthen local communities.
“East Carroll Community Action Agency and its volunteers provide invaluable support to neighbors navigating difficult times,” said Charlie Oakes, Sparklight Senior Regional Director, Gulf Coast. “We’re honored to stand beside them in their tireless work and help provide needed resources to individuals and families when they need them most.”
Agency leaders said the grant comes at a time of increasing need across East Carroll Parish.
“We’re so grateful to Sparklight for believing in our mission and supporting the work we do every day,” said Rosie Brown, East Carroll Community Action Agency Executive Director. “More families and seniors are turning to us for help, and this grant will make it possible for us to provide more food, essential supplies and utility assistance to neighbors who need a helping hand. We’re proud to serve this community, and support like this makes a real difference.”
Sparklight’s Charitable Giving Fund focuses on initiatives that create lasting, local impact, including education and digital literacy, hunger relief and community development.
