Wright has booksigning for 12 novels in series

Local author Robert K. Wright celebrated his literary achievements at a recent book signing event held at Monroe’s Picadilly Cafeteria, where fans gathered to meet the creator of the Dorian Batiste novel series.

The 12-book saga follows its titular Black entrepreneur as he builds hotels worldwide, blending New Orleans cultural roots with international ambition.

A Carroll High School graduate, Wright draws inspiration from Monroe’s community, crafting characters based on local personalities.
