The family and support village are rallying to congratulate Zachary Dwayne Crockett on his graduation from Wossman High School. For Zachary’s family and his extensive support village, his success is the proud product of years of dedication, academic excellence, and community involvement.
The son of H. Wayne Crockett and S. Lampley, Zachary’s educational journey is deeply rooted in the local community. His path to graduation took him through Head Start, Lexington Elementary, Sally Humble Elementary, Jefferson Upper Elementary, and Martin Luther King Jr. Junior High, before he ultimately capped off his high school career at Wossman.
A Legacy of Excellence
From his earliest school days, Zachary proved to be a motivated learner, earning numerous certificates, kindergarten achievements, and citizenship awards. Once he reached Wossman High School, he took his academic pursuits to the next level:
- Four-Year Honor Roll: Zachary maintained a stellar 3.0 GPA, earning honor roll recognition for 16 consecutive grading periods (8 full semesters).
- Wise Cat Recognition: He was named a “Wossman Wise Cat” four times for his leadership and character.
- Club Involvement: He was a two-year member of the National Honor Society, the Beta Club, and the STEM team.
Zachary’s passion for science culminated in a massive win at the Region 3 Science Fair at LSU, where he took home 1st Place in Chemistry, alongside the prestigious Best in Show award.
Strength on the Field and in the Community
Zachary’s talents extend far beyond the classroom. He was a powerhouse in athletics, dedicating four years to both the Wossman football team and the powerlifting team. He also spent two years training with Tiger Rock Martial Arts, bringing home two silver medals and four graduate medals.
Believing in giving back, Zachary clocked more than 100 hours of community service, all while proving his technical readiness by passing his skills test with an impressive 90% accuracy.
Looking to the Future
With high school officially in the rearview mirror, Zachary is already stepping into his next chapter. He plans to attend Delta Community College while balancing a part-time position at Chase.
His family, friends, and the entire “village” that cheered him on from Head Start to high school graduation loudly celebrate his incredible accomplishments today, eagerly looking forward to the bright future ahead of him.
