“Check your dream” will be the theme of the annual Martin Luther King Foundation’s King Day observance for 2023.
The annual community based program will be held at the Greater Antioch Baptist Church Monday night at 7 p.m.
Dr. K.C Wade will be the keynote speaker.
Dr. Wade Is a product of both the South as well as the North. He has been influenced by both the country and the city. He can trance his linage back to his great, great grandparents John and Janey Wade who were slaves on the Wade plantation in Lancaster, South Carolina.
He obtained a BA in biology from Amherst College and a Medical Degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Kelvin completed his medical training At Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, New Jersey. He has spent time working in Community Health Centers in Newark, New Jersey and East Harlem, New York. Dr K C Wade has functioned as an physician in the Greater Monroe Area for almost three decades.
Dr. Wade has been involved with the Faith Community of Northeast Louisiana for more than 27 years. He serves as an active member of the Walk in the Word Kingdom Church under the leadership of Bishop Danny and Apostle Carolyn Hunt.
He is an ardent student of the word of God. His wife Vivian Wade of 38 years have worked together with him to minister to persons in Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities, Homeless Shelters and in the Prisons.
