Two jailed related to shots fired at local Motel

Louisiana State Police are trying to unravel the facts relating to a shooting that involved a police and two suspects in a Monroe motel.

While state police piece the incident together two men have been arrested in the incident that resulted in the officer-involved shooting: Lewis Craft and Jonathan Guillory.

They were arrested because both of them were in a Motel room at the Super 8 motel on Martin Luther King Highway when a disturbance complaint was called into the police.

Investigating the complaint officers reportedly found a small bag of what they believed to be Meth.

The police report of the incident said Guillory did not comply with police requests and reportedly moved aggressively toward the officer. Guillory reportedly grabbed the officer and forced him backward.

The police report did not include the details of any shots fired, but witnesses told police that they heard at least five shots fired after police arrived.

Guillory is charged with battery of a police officer, resisting a police officer with force or violence and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

Craft was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
