Three arrested for home invasion, robbery

Investigators say a simple request to use the restroom is how three suspects gained access to a Monroe home during a violent armed invasion on Adams Street late Monday night.

According to Monroe Police Department records, the incident began on November 17, 2025, when a woman later identified as 55-year-old Rose Jenkins knocked on the victims’ door. The female resident opened the door after Jenkins allegedly asked to use the restroom. As soon as Jenkins stepped inside, two additional suspects — 51-year-old Bessie Carter and 67-year-old Cedric Robinson — rushed in behind her.

Police say the three forced their way into the living room where a male victim was watching television with his girlfriend. Court documents state Robinson ordered the couple to leave their home, but they soon returned inside, where the assault escalated.

According to MPD, Robinson began beating the male victim and striking him multiple times with a large knife. The victim told officers he was patted down by Robinson, who allegedly took a small bag of marijuana from his pocket. Robinson also reportedly punched the female victim in the face before instructing Carter to take her phone to prevent her from calling 911.

When officers arrived, they found the male victim suffering from severe injuries to his face and forearm. He was taken to St. Francis Medical Center, then later transferred to Shreveport in stable condition. Police said his facial lacerations were so significant he was unable to open his eyes. The female victim was treated at the scene for her injuries.

Investigators later determined Robinson had gone to the home with the intent to rob and assault the male victim. All three suspects fled the scene in a white truck.

The following day, November 18, Carter, Jenkins, and Robinson were taken into custody and transported to Ouachita Correctional Center. Carter and Jenkins face charges of Home Invasion and two counts of Armed Robbery. Robinson faces Aggravated Second-Degree Battery, Home Invasion, and two counts of Armed Robbery.
