There is a song for every generation

I have to admit that most of my peers probably don’t listen to the music of the 1940s or anyone else besides me really.

For the most part, I like to listen to forties kinds of songs whereas the artist is mostly Frank Sinatra, Glenn Miller, The Ink Spots, or even Doris Day sometimes. I feel that these old songs just give cozy feelings, like sitting on the sofa wrapped in your blanket while reading a book. Those are the best feelings and sometimes it makes you forget that you’re alone in the room.

These songs are good for any time of the day but there are others as well. In the 60s-90s, there were many hits. How many of you know,“You make my dreams come true” by Hall and Oates? Good song. There is also a well-known song from 10cc “I’m not in love”, that has to be one of the most nostalgic but cleverest songs I’ve ever heard. The male lyrics were the complete opposite of those of his wife, truly wholesome.

There’s the song “Cherry Bomb” by The Runaways. I like this song because it gives me “cool-kid” vibes and it reminds me of a song called “Rebel Girl” by Bikini Kill which is also very outstanding.

Does anyone remember “Stayin Alive” by Bee Gees? I rarely see anyone listen or dance to it anymore which is really disappointing.

Fortunately, a lot of you have seen Ready Player One where the song was played. I feel like my Nana was happy to hear that song when she first watched the movie. 80s gang! I know there are some out there somewhere besides me who listens to “Take On Me” by A-ha or dances to Whitney Huston’s “I wanna dance with somebody?” ‘

Some of my friends would come after me for this one but “You Give Love A Bad Name” by Bon Jovi was a great song. Someone out there has to know it.

Fast-forwarding to the 2000s. There’s still some hope for the world. I am going to cry if someone tells me they don’t know, “Spanish Sahara” by Foals. This song was legendary! There should be no way people don’t know it. It also hits hard when you think about your struggles, it makes me cry listening to it sometimes.

Another song that is a tear-jerker is from a popular video game called Little Nightmares 2. The song is called “Prison Toys” composed by Tobias Lijia and may I just say, it is a masterpiece.

If there’s anyone that enjoys metal songs. There is an amazing creator on Youtube that has redone this work as a metal song that I truly enjoy and yes, I still cry listening to it. “Prison Toys Metal Remix” is the creation of Alex Walter.

I don’t know about you guys but you can’t listen to music while walking in the halls in my school, but if I had a choice to listen to only one song and it was the only song you could play while walking in school, I’d choose,

“You’re Cold” by Bernie Rao. Not many people know this song but I love it. How did I find this song? Well I watched a crazy movie that created it called “Killer Sofa.”

Like I said, crazy but it’s good.

Everyone has their favorite song, regardless of age.

What’s crazy or even unknown to some, is the stuff of pleasant memories for others.
