Scriptures to ponder: …Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven (Matthew 10:32-33 KJV).
My Dear Friends,
Have you ever been a part of conversations where individuals openly and freely share their beliefs about another; yet, you neglect to share with them the love of Jesus Christ, our Savior? Are their discussions so strong until you second-guess our risen Savior? In other words, do you take the risk of denying Jesus? Well, if so-“dangerous territory!”
With this in mind, compromising your belief in Jesus Christ around the “popular crowd” is dangerous business. So often, people who do not believe in Jesus may attempt to smother your thinking when it comes to sharing what you believe. In fact, they are very vocal while trying to convince you that their god is the way.
Of course, we know what Jesus taught His disciples during His earthly ministry. Specifically, according to John, the Gospel writer, Jesus shares with them that He is going away; and He would come again to receive them unto Himself. Additionally, John records Jesus saying, “That where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14: 1-6 NKJV). Remember, when persons present tomfoolery to you about their god, “The risk of denying Jesus is too dangerous.”
Let them know that Jesus, the world’s Savior, Lives!
In the noted text, Matthew pens the account when Jesus sends out the twelve disciples. Jesus gives them specific commands of some things to do and some things not to do. In addition, He prepares them for persecution and tells them that if they confess Him before men, He will confess them before the Father. On the other hand, if they deny Him before men, He will deny them before the Father (Matthew 10:32-33). Of course, the challenges and serious persecutions were so great during the disciples’ time; however, they continued in the ministry of sharing Jesus Christ to many with boldness and confidence.
Prayerfully, the next time you are in conversations with individuals who share their beliefs or not, please share with them what Jesus did for all people-He died and rose. Do not deny Him. The risk is too dangerous.
