The Monroe Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, an international, not-for-profit, public service organization, has a bold history of philanthropy and service to Monroe and surrounding communities. Chartered in 1955, the chapter has over 60 years of promoting academic excellence; providing scholarships; providing support to the underserved; educating and stimulating participation in the establishment of positive public policy and highlighting issues and offering solutions to problems in the community we serve.
Likewise, for over 10 decades, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has stood on the shoulders of its 22 Founders and has played a pivotal role in advancing and advocating for change, academic excellence, and support around the globe within our Five-Point Programmatic Thrust: Educational Development, Economic Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement.
