The Celebration of the Life of Jacquiela McFarland Downs

Jacquiela McFarland Downs was born September 8, 1979, in Monroe, Louisiana to Charles McFarland and Joann (Mason) Badger. She attended and graduated from Neville High School. After which she obtained two masters degrees from Ashford University.

Jacquiela married Tyson Downs in 2019. To their union was born one son, Kaiden Downs. He was the gift of her life.
Jacquiela McFarland Downs was the Director of Youth Empowerment Program, she was responsible for leading the mentoring and positive youth development staff that provides services in Northeast Louisiana. Jacquiela held a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Master’s degree in Education, and a Master’s degree in Public Administration. She and her staff focused on meeting the needs of children and youth facing adversity. Jacquiela served as chair of the Citizen’s Review Panel for Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services – Monroe Region and was a member of the Junior League of Monroe. Jacquiela was recognized as one of the Top 20 Under 40 Professionals by the Monroe Chamber of Commerce in 2015. She was with Wellspring since 2010.

She proceeded in death by her grandmother, Gladys Mason. As Jacquiela departed into eternity on September 17, 2020, she leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Tyson Downs, and their son Kaiden Downs of Monroe, LA, her mother Joann Mason Badger (Eddie Lee) of Monroe as well, her father Charles McFarland (Jennifer), sister Jerica McFarland, brothers Charles and Kevin McFarland all of Lilburn GA, and her brother Mark Mason (Roymelle) of Monroe, Theresa Mason and Uncle Alex Mason (Terri), Godchild Malayah Mason, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
