NAACP officials are investigating yet another complaint by a female attendant at Swanson’s Correctional center after a woman complained of being threatened and assaulted by youthful inmates in the same unit on three different occasions.
Ambrose Douzart, President of the Ouachita NAACP, says he is disturbed about the complaint of Beverly James-Glover, a Swanson attendant, who said she was assigned to monitor a unit of ten boys but was locked in the unit with the youth without a radio or keys for over two hours before help came.
In an official report filed with the Office of Juvenile Justice on June 11th, Glover said she was ordered to monitor the boys ranging in age from 15-18 years old after they had assaulted another female attendant hours before. Glover said she was ordered to monitor the boys and was locked in the unit without a radio or keys to get out.
