Shelling, Hanks named high school principals here

Two of Monroe’s high schools will begin the new school year with new leadership at the helm.

Rev. Sam Moore III, superintendent of Monroe City Schools, announced last week the appointments of new principals for Neville High School and Carroll High School.

Dr. Cassandra Shelling has been named principal of Carroll High School. Shelling brings classroom experience and community ties to her new role. She previously served as a math teacher at Shelling Elementary School and is known for her dedication to academic excellence and student mentorship.

At Neville High School, Karari Hanks has been promoted to principal. Hanks served as assistant principal at Neville and began his career there as a chemistry teacher. His promotion marks a continuation of leadership familiar with the school’s academic goals and student body.

Superintendent Moore expressed confidence in the new appointments, saying both leaders reflect the district’s vision for strong, student-centered leadership.
