Shanderic Downs donated a liver to his sister and saved her life

Parents do their best to instill in their children the value of giving and sharing, especially among their siblings. Most of the time, they enforce sharing toys, candy, or clothes. Then there is Shanderic Downs, who went above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to helping family. Five years ago,  he gave his sister, Roslyn Downs over half of his liver to give her a second chance at life.

Downs grew up on the south side of Monroe. The oldest of three children, his childhood was full of joy and laughter.
