Saturday Services set for Moses Parker, 73

Visitation and funeral services for a veteran railroad employee have been scheduled.

Funeral services for Moses Parker, Jr, 73, will be held Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 2:30 AM at Beth Eden Missionary Baptist Church, 1800 Milhaven Road.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 8, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at McFarland Funeral Companies, 1901 Burg Jones Lane.

Burial will follow at Richwood Memorial Gardens, 2705 Richwood Road #2, Monroe, LA 71202.

Moses Parker, Jr., 73, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025. Born on May 18, 1952, in Monroe, Louisiana, he was the son of the late Moses Parker, Sr., and Jeanette Edward Parker.

Raised with strong Christian values, Parker was baptized at Riverside Baptist Church under the late H.Y. Bell and accepted Jesus as his personal savior at an early age. His parents instilled in him a deep understanding of God and biblical principles that guided him throughout his life.

Parker was a graduate of Richwood High School, Class of 1970, having attended Monroe City Schools. Following his high school graduation, he pursued higher education at Wiley College in Marshall, Texas. He built a career working for the railroad system, where he was employed for many years.

His passing has left a profound void in the hearts of those who knew him, but family and friends find comfort in the cherished memories of shared laughter, love, and countless precious moments that will endure beyond time.

Parker was preceded in death by his parents, Moses Parker, Sr., and Jeanette Edward Parker; his brothers Samson Parker and Steven Ray Parker; and his aunt AziLee Taylor.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his son, Mandrel Parker; grandson, Jonathan Parker; brother, Billy Joe Parker; and sisters Sandra Lee Jackson, Edna Faye Parker Hodoh (Bennie Armstrong), Ora Lee Mosley, Carolyn Sue Parker Watson, and Merry Ann Parker Smith. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who held him dear.
