Large Contingent of Monroyans attended
Dr. Robby Dale Williams was installed as the pastor of the St. Rest Baptist Church in Minden Sunday, July 2, 2017.
To a standing room only audience of church leaders elected officials, and the faithful, Williams accepted the church’s call and promised to lead the church to the next level of ministry.
Roosevelt Wright, Jr., pastor of the New Tabernacle Baptist Church in Monroe characterized Williams as a rising star in God’s hands. He said after stars die there is often a troublesome black hole, but on the other side a new star rises.
St. Rest has been pastored by The Martin Family for over 60 years. When Dr. B.F. Martin, Sr. died his son, B.F. Martin, Jr. took over as pastor. This year the son stepped down because of ill health. The church called Williams, who is a member of St. Rest, to come home and continue the St. Rest legacy.
The was a large contingent of members of the Macedonia present for the installation.
