In front of a host of friends gathered at Copeland’s restaurant Saturday night he told his fiancée Purvetta Lighten that he loved her and that he planned to do it right.
He then reached into his pocket and pulled out a ring, dropped to one knee, and asked her to marry him.
In the rush of cellphone clicks no one heard her answer so he registered it for the record, “She said yes!” said Russell followed by a big hug and a kiss.
It was an especially romantic night complete with beautiful guitar music, good food and friends.
