There’s only one bank on Monroe’s southside. The Chase branch on Martin Luther King Drive. Beginning July 10, the branch will no longer operate Saturday banking. The bank states that it is due to low traffic volume and the increase of customers using ATMs and mobile devices.
Within the past year, the branch shutdown the drive-up banking, closed out two inside window spaces, and installed additional ATM machines.
The Saturday banking shutdown will not only apply to the Southside branch, but all Chase branches in Monroe. The only branches in the area that will open on Saturdays will be the ones on Cypress and Glenwood streets in West Monroe.
The branch will still operate at normal business hours Monday thru Friday.
