Michael Jordan is a basketball legend. Out of overcoming many obstacles, he built a career many of us can only dream of. When he was in high school, the basketball team needed another player. Jordan tried out but did not make the cut. This was a major disappointment and he vowed to become the best basketball player he could be. By the following season, his work ethic and determination on the practice court had made him a dominant force on the team. If he had given up, he would not have become the legend he is today.
We all face obstacles in our lives. Attempting to do anything difficult comes with challenges, so let’s learn to embrace them. If we look at an obstacle as an opportunity we increase our chances of success. Winston Churchill said, “ A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity. An optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” How we overcome these obstacles will determine our success in life. Once your eyes have been set on a goal, do not be distracted. You must stick with your smart plan, have creative solutions, and have an unshakeable belief in yourself. Hoping for an easy way is not a plan. We should learn from Michael Jordan and turn our obstacles into opportunities.
