A private graveside service was held in Bastrop, Louisiana for Mrs. Icmae Hubbard who was 96 years of age. On Monday, February 1st, family and friends gathered to celebrate her homegoing. She was born to the late Willie Smith and Jenny Pegros Smith on Aug 26, 1924, in Oak Ridge, Louisiana. She accepted Christ at an early age and was very active in her church. Icmae later met and married the love of her life, Henry Hubbard. Together they parented 14 children. The family subsequently moved to Bastrop, LA.
Icmae truly loved the Lord and was an active member and Church Mother of the Abundant Faith Ministries C. O. G. I. C where her son-in-law Elder Charles L. Morrison is the pastor. There, she served on the Mother’s Board and was a teacher in the Home and Foreign Missions Department. Mother Hubbard loved gospel music and enjoyed singing the songs of Zion. Mother Hubbard also liked watching Christian and “old school” TV. Colombo and MAMA’s FAMILY were two of her favorites. She had a heart for helping others and a special passion for children in need of help. This was evidenced by her work with the foster care program.
Mother Hubbard lived a full and blessed life. She knew that “to be absent from this world meant to be present with the Lord.”
She was so loved and will be missed very much.
