Mayor, Woods, apologize for not following safe distance rules, then announce park shut downs

As the number of COVID-19 cases in Monroe increases, the City of Monroe has shut down services at city parks, while apologizing for not following its own rules.

Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo said the public is encouraged to stay inside and use the city parks for shorter periods of time to adhere to social distancing guidelines of the state.
