Man arrested on 20 charges

Think you have problems? Try trading places with Gibson Leon Wilson of Monroe. Wilson was arrested on October 17, 2025, by the West Monroe Police Department and now faces a total of 20 separate charges ranging from felonies to misdemeanors. In addition, he remains the subject of prior arrests—including a seven-count charge from September 23, 2022, also handled by West Monroe Police.​

October 17, 2025: Recent Charges and Bonds

Leon’s latest offenses include:

  • Aggravated Battery (felony)​
  • Simple Robbery (felony)​
  • Resisting an Officer (misdemeanor)​
  • Attempt and Conspiracy (felony)​
  • Possession with Intent to Distribute or Manufacture CDS-II (felony)​
  • Failure to Appear: Multiple bench warrants​
  • Various traffic violations (license, insurance, careless operation, improper turn)​
  • Contempt of Court (multiple counts)​

Of these, bonds have been set for some charges, including $750, $1,500, and $500 on selected offenses. Other charges have no bond, and remain in active legal status as of the latest court records.​

Previous Arrest: September 23, 2022

For the September 2022 incident, Leon’s charges included:

  • Stopping, Standing or Parking Prohibited in Specified Places​
  • Resisting an Officer​
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia​
  • Aggravated Flight from an Officer (misdemeanor)​
  • Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance, Schedule I​
  • Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance, Schedule II​

These offenses were also processed by the West Monroe Police Department. Bonds for these prior charges are recorded as active with varied amounts, depending on the charge.​

Pending Proceedings

Leon is currently detained with court dates set in Monroe City Court and 4th Judicial District Court to address both the most recent and previous allegations.
