Latron Jones convicted of murder, faces life sentence

On July 11, 2025, a unanimous jury in Ouachita Parish found Latron Thomas Jones, 34, guilty of second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, and felon in possession of a firearm following a five-day trial at the Ouachita Parish Courthouse.

The trial, presided over by the Honorable Wendell Manning, concluded with the jury deliberating for just one and a half hours before delivering their verdict.

  1. There is so much mold in Thomas Jefferson elementary for the past 3 years and administration is doing nothing about it just painting over it..someone needs to address this children getting ready to come back to that school this month..this will make those children and staff sick
